At the Nevada Federation of Republican Women's 2006 Fall Board Meeting held in Las Vegas, it was announced that Douglas County's Sierra Nevada Republican Women is the largest Republican Women's Club in the state with 161 full members and 88 associates.

The Nevada Federation of Republican Women has 18 active clubs operating in the state.

The Sierra Nevada Republican Women was formed in the fall of 1997 and has been a National Federation of Republican Women diamond award winning club.

Past presidents include Susan Jacobson Jackson 1998-99, Diane Gordon, 2000-01, Robin Reedy 2002-03, Donna Baushke 2004-05 and Sherese Settelmeyer 2006-07.

As a bit of trivia, former Gov. Kenny and first lady Dema Guinn attended the club's first St. Patrick Day's fundraiser in 1998.

The Governor was so grateful to have corned beef as he and the first lady had eaten chicken four nights in a row on the campaign trail.

The luncheon meetings are held at Two Guys from Italy the second Wednesday of every month except March, July, September and December.
