The Douglas County Senior Center will present the eighth annual Senior Health Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Shannon Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395 in Minden.
The health fair is designed to provide seniors and the community an expanded awareness of health care providers and services in our community and an opportunity to address individual concerns, first hand, with health care professionals.
More than 50 health care providers and organizations will be present to discuss their individual areas of expertise. Services to include: medical, insurance, residential care, financial and investments, nutrition, medicare, community services, hearing, vision and much more.
Blood pressure checks will be offered 9 a.m. to noon, massage therapy from 9-11 a.m.
There will be raffling of prizes throughout the day, provided by Senior Health Fair participants. All proceeds from the raffle ticket sales goes towards the Meals on Wheels program.
A senior fashion show will take place at 1:30 p.m., with clothes provided by Sidestreet Boutique of South Lake Tahoe. The models will be wearing the latest spring and evening wear collections.
Free transportation to the health fair will be provided by Douglas Area Rural Transit. Call 783-6456.
