Happy Martin Luther King Day from sunny southern Arizona, where they think it is really cold because the high temperature just hit 42 degrees. I understand from the Weather Service that the low this morning in Minden is 3 degrees and that the high today will be a degree short of freezing.
Local, state and federal offices should be closed today in observance of MLK. The Record-Courier will, however, be plugging away today in preparation for Wednesday's edition.
Thursday's Douglas County commissioners meeting at Stateline will feature an open house to show off the new meeting room at the Tahoe Transportation Center next door to Administration Building and next door to the parking garage. Commissioners meet at 1:30 p.m. after getting a chance to show off their new meeting room.
It's been a long time since I've attended a commissioner meeting at the Lake, but they were meeting in the Tahoe Township Justice Court room.
Since I'm on a brief civilization break from the hinterland, the Morning Report will be going dark for a couple of days. It will be back Thursday morning unless some other R-C staffer tackles it.
