Coming off one of its best games of the year earlier in the week, the Douglas High School girls' basketball team ran into a wall against No. 2 Reno Friday night.
The Huskies jumped out to a 17-8 lead in the first quarter and the Tigers were never really able to recover as Reno pushed ahead to a 71-33 victory in Reno.
Reno had a 35-14 lead heading into halftime and put the game completely out of reach with a 21-point third quarter as the Huskies improved to 13-5 overall on the year and 4-0.
Douglas (7-11, 1-2) had come off a gritty win against North Valleys and was hoping to slip in and surprise the Huskies, but the Tigers' were limited offensively from the outset.
Jessica Waggoner led the Tigers with 10 points and Taryn Williams had eight.
Nicole Didero had a strong game on the inside as well, scoring seven points. Sarah Hartley added three points, Katie Buffo and Lisa Christen each had two points and Bridget Maestretti had one.
Reno got balanced scoring throughout its lineup with 12 points from Raimy Novacek, nine from Angela Ceccarelli and Christina Gough. In total, the Huskies had 13 players put points on the board.
