The Coleville boys' basketball team topped Excel Christian Tuesday night with a balanced scoring attack.
Erik Stevens led the way with 13 points and two 3-pointers and Jason Peters added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Marco Barajas and Trevor Anderson each added 11 points for the Wolves.
Coleville was able to bounce back with the solid game after losing a close one to Pyramid Lake 55-41 Saturday.
The Wolves were in it until the Lakers managed to outscore Coleville 8-2 in the fourth quarter.
"It was so much great defense on their part, it was poor shooting on our part," Coleville coach Jack McCormick said. "It was a tough game and the kids played hard."
Barajas had 13 points in the loss and Peters added 11 points.
Coleville topped Gerlach 70-8 last Friday, getting 20 points from Peters, who only played for one half.
Jay Seghers scored eight points and had seven rebounds for the Wolves as well.
Coleville takes on rival Smith Valley tonight.
DOUGLAS FRESHMEN BOYS
The Tigers picked up an emotional 74-59 win over Reno last Friday, getting 20 points apiece from CJ Marcotte and Michael Whalin.
"It was probably our most complete game of the entire season," coach J.P. Albert said. "It was just hard-fought by boths teams throughout."
Albert said Luis Pina and Daniel Brady were strong on the defensive end and Colton Dale, Stanley Running Wolf, Brett Anderson and Chris Schonian played well.
On Tuesday, Douglas ran into a tough test at Carson. The Senators brought Douglas' 10-game win streak to an end, pulling away late with a 56-53 victory.
"We came out flat in the first and we were trailing 12-10," Albert said.
Douglas turned that around into a 26-25 lead at the half and pushed it to a seven-point lead after three quarters.
The Tigers extended that lead to 10 points, but Carson was able to catch up with a number of baskets in transition.
"Their transition game killed us," Albert said. "We just couldn't find an answer."
Pina led the team with 12 points and Whalin and Marcotte each scored 10 in the loss.
