The eleventh annual signing of the charter and declaration of the Douglas County Nevada TRIAD will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Douglas County Senior Center. The document will be signed by Samantha Heers, Chairman of Douglas County Nevada TRIAD; Ron Pierini, Douglas County Sheriff; Bobby Wartgow, Deputy Chief of the East Fork Fire and Paramedics Department and Warren Bottino, Douglas County Senior Services Supervisor.

The senior center lunch and monthly birthday celebration will follow the signing.

In 1985, the National Sheriff's Association, the International Chiefs of Police Association and AARP agreed to work together to reduce victimization of the elderly. This formed the first TRIAD chapter. Since that time, over 400 TRIAD chapters have sprung up nationwide. In February 1996, Douglas County Nevada TRIAD was formed, working toward the one goal of enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens.

This is accomplished by sponsoring various programs and providing educational seminars, benefiting Douglas County seniors.
