Wrestling: Douglas grapplers take Wooster down

The Douglas High wrestling team sent its seniors out in style Wednesday night, dominating the Wooster Colts from the start, recording pins in the four of the first five matches and running away with a 49-9 win.

DeCee Simpson opened things up in an exhibition match, pinning his opponent in just 48 seconds.

Jake Williams picked up a 9-2 win in the 160-pound class, running his season record to 19-4.

Tony Ferris then came on in the 171-pound class and scored a quick pin on his oppenent in 30 seconds. Senior Sean Molina followed with a pin in 42 seconds in the 189-pound class.

Both teams forfeited the 215- and 285-pound classes and Douglas 103-pounder came back on the other side with a pin in 37 seconds.

Garett Hekhuis took a major decision over his opponent in the 112-pound class, 10-1 and Cody Spates later pinned his opponent in 46 seconds in the 130-pound class and Nick Ceglia, Ryan Pruitt and Ryan Olsen each won their matches by forfeit.

Douglas improved to 14-2 overall on the year and 5-1 in Sierra League action.
