The Douglas High School wrestling team wrapped up its regular season with a 50-22 win over Reno Friday.

With the win, the Tigers finished in a mathematical tie with Carson and Damonte Ranch for first-place in the Sierra League meaning that Douglas captured a share of the league title, effectively defending its championship from last season.

Because the schools' records in dual matches don't have any effect on seeding in the regional tournament, scheduled for this weekend, the NIAA doesn't implement a tiebreaker in figuring the regular-season league champions from the High Desert and Sierra leagues.

Against Reno, Douglas got wins from Wesley Peterson, Garrett Hekhuis, Nico Barker, Cody Spates, Devin Barker, Ryan Pruitt, Ryan Olsen, Nick Ceglia, Jake Williams and Tony Ferris.

Sean Molina ended up going three rounds in his match before losing on a late takedown 10-9.

Douglas wrapped up its dual season with a 15-2 record overall and a 6-1 record in league action. The Tigers' 3-0 record at home this year stretched their unbeaten streak at home to nine, meaning that Douglas has not lost a home dual match in more than three years.
