A 3-5 acre brush fire gave residents of Arcadia Drive a start late last night. Brush was reportedly ignited by a car fire at about 10 p.m. There was a breeze that drove the fire west for a bit, but by 11 p.m. they were mopping up and the fire was declared contained at 1 a.m., according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch. Firefighters from Indian Hills, Jacks Valley and Genoa were among those responding to the blaze. An unrelated fire at Heavenly was quickly doused on Saturday afternoon.

A burned area emergency response team should arrive at the site of the Angora fire in South Lake Tahoe today. As of Sunday night, the fire was 95 percent contained and the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection reported they expect the fire to be fully under control today.

The courts have taken today and Tuesday off for Fourth of July, but Douglas County's boards are going ahead full steam. On Tuesday, Gardnerville, Genoa and Douglas County Parks and Recreation boards meet. Minden's town board delayed their meeting until Thursday, the same day Douglas County commissioners meet on a variety of topics, not least of which is the proposed bear ordinance.
