Fourth continues with bike parade

For the fourth year, residents will participate in an Independence Day bike parade in the Johnson Lane community. The bike parade begins at 6 p.m. Sunday at Clapham and Johnson lanes, continues along Clapham to Stephanie Way and ends at Johnson Lane Park. The grand marshal is Johnson Lane Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Steve Eisele.


The Douglas County Mounted Posse will be in the parade, as well as decorated bicycles. The bike and rider decorating contest is open to ages 15 and younger. First prize is a $25 Best Buy gift certificate.


A barbecue with hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available at the park for a $2 donation. Proceeds will go to the Johnson Lane Volunteer Fire Department.
