There is still plenty of smoke in the sky after several wildfire incidents in the area over the weekend.
The Inyo Complex Wildland fire near Independence and Bishop continues to burn, having consumed more than 34,000 acres. It is at 8 percent containment as of Sunday evening. There is no estimated date of containment at this time.
The fire started Friday after a lightning strike.
A 10-acre brush fire along the Carson River at Highway 88 and Carson River Road in Alpine also conributed to the smoke Saturday.
After battling through a week of 100-plus degree weather, Carson Valley will get a tiny bit of relied this week as a high of 97 (yeah, still pretty hot) is expected.
Temperatures are expected to trim down to 94 degrees Tuesday and remain in the low-90s through the remainder of the week with thunderstorms expected Thursday.
The 10-day forecast doesn't have any temperatures above 94 degrees.
