Helen L. Giannotta


1923-2007


A private family service will take place for Helen Louise Giannotta, 83, who died July 6, 2007, in Carson City. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.


Mrs. Giannotta, a 17-year resident of Carson City, was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Exeter, Calif., to Ralph and Eunice Hutton Moore. She was a graduate of Los Gatos High School and she married John Anthony Giannotta Nov. 1, 1942, in Reno.


She spent her life as a homemaker and bookkeeper, devoting her life to caring and nurturing her husband, four daughters, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; instilling in them her independent spirit and sense of humor. She was the chief household manager, head chef, financial advisor, crisis counselor, seamstress and entertainment coordinator for her family for over 60 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, any kind of craft, cooking and bingo.


Mrs. Giannotta was preceded in death by her mother, December 1977 and her father in 1968. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John A. Giannotta of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Rick Howard, Sandy Jacopetti, Susan and Phil Davis, Shelley Giannotta; her brother Eugene Moore; her sisters Edith DiLeonardo and Wanda French; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City. Memorial donantions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Vista Care Hospice.




George R. Lane


1929-2007


No services are planned for George R. Lane, 77, who died July 10, 2007, at his Gardnerville home.


A resident of Gardnerville for 7 1/2 years, Mr. Lane was born Dec. 1, 1929 in San Francisco to George C. and Evelyn Lane. He graduated high school in Marysville, Calif. and spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an aircraft mechanic supervisor for the federal government. He married Delores Milback, Sept. 30, 1956 and lived in Oregon for 14 years and California prior to that before moving to Gardnerville. He was a member of the Elks Club for more than 20 years and enjoyed boating, riding his Harley, fishing and family.


He is survived by his wife Delores Lane of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Brook Hathaway of Lincoln, Calif.; son David Choate of Reno; sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Pam Lane and Michael and Terri Lane of Sacramento; and daughter and son-in-law Paula and Jimmy Ruiz of Dayton; brothers Jack Irwin and Gary Lane as well as 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden. Cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
