There's a red flag warning today starting at 1 p.m. and lasting until 9 p.m. as a cold front rolls into the area, driving hot, dry winds before it. Expect gusts of 35-40 mph during the afternoon. More wind is expected on Wednesday with gusts of up to 55 mph in the foothills. The high temperature today is expected to hit 92.

Somebody's going to prison this morning with two cases scheduled to go before Judge Dave Gamble, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years. South Lake Tahoe resident Adam Cook, 19, is facing up to 15 years in prison for trafficking in cocaine. He admitted that on Jan. 5 he helped Elliott Liebowitz, 18, sell cocaine to undercover officers in Stateline. Last month, Travis Woodbury, 18, was sent to prison for five years for his part in the transaction. Liebowitz has yet to be sentenced.

A Reno man who caused an April 4 accident and then fled the scene, only to be chased down by officers, faces up to 15 years in prison. Gilberto Hernandez, 30, pulled out onto Highway 395 from Airport Road in a painting van, which collided with a sedan. In exchange for a no contest plea, the Douglas County District Attorney's Office agreed to recommend no more than seven years in prison.
