Artisans International Gallery presents an exhibit of work by the California Fiber Artists beginning Aug. 4. The exhibit and sale's theme is Deconstruction/Reconstruction - Art from Recycled Materials. An artist reception where visitors will have a chance to meet many of the artists whose work is featured in the exhibit is 2 - 5 p.m. Aug. 11.

"In today's world, we are becoming more aware of the footprint we leave," said Bronwyn Mason, owner of Artisans International Gallery. "Many of the artists from developing countries work with recycled materials, mainly due to the availability and relative low cost."

The exhibit will showcase a variety of applications of recycled materials from fiber to metal and plastic. Other recycled artwork will be on display at the gallery during this time as well as ongoing.

Artisans International Gallery is in Minden Village, 1653 Lucerne St., Suite B. For more information, call 783-8881.
