There's a ton of entertainment out there this weekend, ranging from the theater, to movies to concerts. The play "Sylvia" opens 7 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

There are two free concerts on Saturday, including Big Tiny Little at Merrill Gardens 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and Michael Gulezeian at Minden Village 7 p.m. Saturday. The Town of Gardnerville will be showing "Raiders of The Lost Ark at Heritage Park tonight around dusk.

If you want to eat this weekend, there's plenty of that, too. Ruhenstroth volunteer firefighters will be hosting their annual barbecue and fundraiser 4 p.m. Saturday at the station house. Wake up Sunday morning and you can get breakfast from the Elks, where they are serving up pancakes and eggs. Still hungry? Try the annual Ice Cream Social at Carson Valley United Methodist Church at 5 p.m. Sunday.

How about a little food for the brain? Learn about the old Mountain House stage station in a talk presented by the Douglas County Historical Society 10 a.m. Saturday. Call 782-2555 for instructions. The Genoa Antique Show will feature an appraisal clinic this weekend and the East Fork Gallery is hosting its 28th anniversary reception noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

It's a little bit chilly out this morning. The low's at 47 degrees in Genoa right now. Today will be nice, sunny with a high temperature of 90 degrees. It will warm up over the weekend to 93 degrees, but nothing like the record-breakers we got earlier in the month.

A two-car accident closed Orchard Road for a time on Thursday afternoon. However the paramedics reported the three people involved in the crash were treated and released.
