A Celebration of Art is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Genoa Park on Nixon Street across from the Genoa Community Church.

The event will showcase artists in Genoa and surrounding areas. The event is organized by a group of artists and volunteers who live in the Genoa area.

"The objective of this show is to create the artistic opportunity for local residents. It is an opportunity for the artists to share their artistic flair, and gain positive sense of their talent," event organizer Debrine Smedley said. "Most of us are not professional artists, we just love to create."

There will be a variety of art styles and medium - everything from oil and watercolor painting to quilting, photography and sculpting.

Some of the artworks will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to Angel Kiss Foundation, an organization to help Nevada families of children with cancer.
