Three Carson Valley men are among the latest class to graduate the Western Nevada State Peace Officer Academy 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The 17-member class will received their certificate in a commencement ceremony at Western Nevada College's Sarah Winnemucca Hall, 2201 W. College Parkway.
Gardnerville resident Brian Auchenbach and Minden residents Tim Strobel and Ryan Young are the Valley residents graduating on Wednesday.
Auchenbach and Young are already employed by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The Peace Officer Academy is a 30-week, 33.5-credit program offered at WNC that includes a combination of class work, practical application, and physical training. The program fulfills requirements toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in Law Enforcement.
The other 2007 academy graduates are:
Carson City - Vanessa Adrian, Lizbet Hub-Aguayo, Joseph Elefante, Bodie Golla, Christopher Ramos, Robert Scott, Tiffany Shore, Zack Westbrook and Jeremy Williams
Dayton - Craig Erven, Sean Palamar and Justin Ryba
Fallon - Albert Sevier II
Reno - Dave Pennington
Cadets who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the Peace Officer Standards and Training exam and can apply for positions in law enforcement that require Category I, II, or III certifications.
Erven and Westbrook work for the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Adrian for the Storey County Sheriff's Office and Ryba with Nevada Highway Patrol.
