Services are scheduled Saturday for four members of a Torrance, Calif., family killed July 14 in a head-on collision on Highway 395 south of Gardnerville.

Mass is to be celebrated at noon at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Redondo Beach.

The Calevro family - father, Jerome, 58; mother, Maria, 52; daughter, Bernadette, 23; and son, Jerome Daniel, 15 - died July 14 when an oncoming vehicle drifted across the roadway on Highway 395 and hit them head-on.

The Calevros were on their way to a Lake Tahoe timeshare for a family vacation.

The other driver, Dawn Katherine Miley, 42, of Gardnerville, remained hospitalized Tuesday with internal injuries at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Officials are investigating whether she suffered a diabetic seizure which may have led to the crash.

No charges have been filed pending toxicology results which are expected in several weeks.

Maria Calevro taught students at 186th Street School in Gardena, Calif.

Her husband was a dietitian at a retirement home. Their daughter took classes at El Camino College and their son was a high school student.

Friends of the Calevros raised more than $10,500 at a car wash in Torrance to help with funeral expenses.

Donations may be sent to the Calevro Family Memorial, c/o Bay Cities National Bank, P.O. Box 6630, Redondo Beach, CA 90277-9914.
