Cancer survivors are invited to a celebration of life at Relay for Life of Douglas County will begin 4 p.m. Saturday in Lampe Park with the opening ceremony and the survivors' victory lap. After this lap, the relay begins for family, friends and supporters.
A complimentary dinner will be served for cancer survivors at 5 p.m. The luminary Ceremony of Hope begins at 9 p.m.
Cancer survivors and anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer will also receive a relay T-shirt, a gift and entry into a raffle at the event. Your ticket to dinner will be your purple survivor T-shirt.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's national event where teams spend the night honoring cancer survivors and remembering those who have died from the disease. Teams take turns walking or running laps around the track throughout the night to raise money for cancer research.
