Thursday is Flag Day and the Minden/Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 in the Gardnerville Ranchos has a special celebration planned to honor the different flags that have flown throughout our country's history.
A local scouting group is set to participate in the festivities, and the public is invited to attend.
A meaningful celebration is planned at the Elks Lodge at 4:30 p.m. The lodge is located at 1276 Pit Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
The ceremony should last 30-35 minutes and will be followed by a barbecue dinner.
