A lemonade stand set up along Highway 395 in Minden is raising money for childhood cancer.
Alex's Lemonade Stand is a nation-wide project to help raise money for childhood cancer reasearch that grew from a young cancer patient's front yard lemonade stand
to a nationwide fundraising movement to find a cure for childhood cancer, according to alexslemonade.org
Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004) set up her front yard stand at the age of 4, and according to the Web site has raised more than $10 million has been raised toward curing cancer. Lemonade days are today, Saturday and Sunday this year.
