A red flag warning for Western Nevada has been delayed to Saturday. The National Weather Service is predicting wind gusts of 30-35 mph on Saturday afternoon and evening as a weak low pressure system passes north of us. Humidity will drop below 15 percent increasing the chance of ignition and fire spread. No lightning is predicted, so all we have to do is be careful with fire.

Douglas High School's graduation went well Friday night. Traffic officers wrapped up at about 8:15 p.m. and it should be safe to pass down Highway 88 in about a half-hour or so. Graduation was done by 7:13 p.m. A note in this spot that graduation started at 6 p.m. was incorrect. Sorry.

This will be a light weekend compared with last, but there are still some things to do. Tonight Gardnerville will be hosting "Arthur and the Invisibles" in Heritage Park at dusk. Heritage Park is located behind the Overland on Gilman Avenue. On Saturday, the Douglas County Senior Center will celebrate its 30th anniversary. In Genoa, there will be a free concert on Sunday featuring Moonlight Hoodoo Revue at the town park.
