A celebration of life for Stewart "Bruce" MacClements, 59, a Gardnerville resident for a year, was Tuesday in Sharkey's banquet room.
Mr. MacClements died June 12, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1948, in Worcester, Mass., to Stewart "Tom" and Ina Pellerin MacClements.
He married Debbie Frink in Alturas, Calif.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Hampton, N.H., and Alturas.
He had a degree in electronic engineering.
Mr. MacClements was an electronic engineer, employed by Sharkey's Casino as a slot technician.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lakeview, Ore., and Alturas and a member of the Order of the Antelope. He enjoyed the outdoors and his family.
He was preceded in death by his father on Nov. 15, 1998, in Hampton.
Among his survivors are his wife of 16 years of Gardnerville; mother of Keystone Heights, Fla.; sons Matthew Wilkie of Gardnerville and Jason Wilkie of Carson City; brother Bob of Fish Kill, N.Y.; sister Karen Buck of Kenya, Africa, and numerous extended family members.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pete Ziebell
1947-2007
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Pete Ziebell, 59, who died on Father's Day, June 17, 2007, at his home in Gardnerville after an 18-month battle with cancer.
A resident of Gardnerville for 31 years, Mr. Ziebell was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Oshkosh, Wis., to Albert J. and Willetta Ziebell. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, Wisconsin State University with a bachelor of science in secondary education, Mankato State College, Minn., with a master of arts degree.
Before moving to Gardnerville he was a resident of Dundee, Ill. He married Peg Kuchma, Dec. 10, 1977, in Gardnerville.
During his career he was a real estate broker, a high school teacher, football coach and dean of students and high school principal in Illinois.
He has been a member of the Board of Realtors and a member of the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors for 29 years as a real estate broker and developer, chaired professional standards and grievance committees, Douglas Tax Board of Equalization, R.E. Awards-Top Team Award with his wife Peg, Masters Award, Century 21 Centurion Award and Quality Service Award.
He arrived in Carson Valley in 1976 and, as a hobby, boxed professionally at Lake Tahoe for two years. He enjoyed racing sailboats, RV travels, golf, his backhoe and friends.
He created many projects and remodeled his own home as he enjoyed working with his hands.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willetta James Ziebell and his brothers Jeff and Mike Ziebell, all of Oshkosh, Wis. He is survived by his wife Peg Ziebell of Gardnerville; sons Jim and Wyatt Ziebell of Gardnerville; parents Willy and Allie Ziebell; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Rick Bowman of Oshkosh, Wis.; brothers Jim Ziebell of Kelseyville, Calif., and John Ziebell of Oshkosh, Wis.; as well as 15 nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Arrangements are in the care of St. Gall Catholic Church and FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home with Cremation to take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
