Clement Dwayne Blakney


1924-2007


A memorial service is 1:30 p.m. July 1 at the Lutheran Church activity room, 1900 First St., Sparks for Clement Dwayne Blakney, 83, who died at his Carson City home, June 8, 2007.


A long time resident of Carson City, Mr. Blakney was born June 5, 1924, in Portland, Ore., to Clement E. Blakney and Lucy Woelfer Blakney.


He attended Reed College in Portland and Oregon State College.


He was an enlisted officer in training in the U.S. Navy during World War II.


At the end of the war he left his post as a lieutenantm where he had been in charge of a PT boat in Hawaii.


He married Eleanor P. Palmer in 1947.


After the war he was a researcher in wood products and worked for Masonite Corp. and then taught at a community college.


He moved from Portland to Nevada where he designed client requested custom homes.


He loved the mountains, streams and nature.


He is survived by his wife Eleanor Blakney of Carson City; his sons Charles Blakney of Chilicoot, Calif., and Clement Blakney of Unity, Maine; his daughter Teresa Dickerson of Gardnerville as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with two more on the way.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City with cremation to take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.


Memorial donations can be made to Mazama Mountaineering Center, 527 SE 43rd Ave., Portland, Ore., or to the Boy Scouts of America.




Jack Douglas


Webster


1924-2007


A celebration of life for Jack Douglas Webster, 83, a Gardnerville resident, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Senior Center in Gardnerville.


Mr. Webster died June 11, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born April 29, 1924, in Hollywood, Calif., to Willard and Evelyn Webster.


Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Newport Beach, Calif., until moving to Topaz Ranch Estates in 1983. In 2005, he moved to Aspen Park in Gardnerville.


Mr. Webster enjoyed music and spending time at the Gardnerville Senior Center.


He served in the U.S. Air Force.


He was preceded in death by his wife.


Among his survivors are his son Gary of Florida; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of California, and dear friend Florence Judd of Gardnerville.

Susan Sinclair


Wilkerson


1956-2007


No services are planned for Susan Sinclair Wilkerson, 50, who died June 12, 2007, in Gardnerville.


She was born Dec. 11, 1956, in Colorado to Courtenay T. Headland and Rhoda S. Smith.


She was a graduate of Chico State College in California and worked as a school teacher.


She was an Episcoplian.


She is survived by her parents, Rhoda and Courtenay Headland and two brothers Keith and Mark Headland.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Funeral Home in MInden.


Cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.


Memorial donations can be made in the name of Susan Sinclair Wilkerson to the local humane society.
