Willie V. Briam


1914-2007


A celebration of life will be 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the Topaz Ranch Estates Park Building, 4001 Carter Way, Topaz Ranch Estates, for Willie V. Briam, 92, who died at his home, April 15, 2007.


Mr. Briam was born Oct. 8, 1914 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Marfa High School and two years of college at Sul Ross College in Alpine, Texas. He has worked as a clerk/typist, barber and a funeral home manager. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, and received the American Theater Victory and good conduct medals. He married his first wife Gwen Shipley, 1939 in Marfa, Texas, and his second wife, Ann Weaver, 1976 in Lake Tahoe. A resident of Topaz Ranch Estates for 31 years, he previously lived at Lake Tahoe and Pomona, Calif. He is a member of the Unity Church of Today and Topaz Post 3630 VFW Asiatic Pacific Theater.


He was preceded in death by his son Bill Briam Jr. 2004 in Fresno, Calif.; his sister Helen Chaffin 1999 in Odessa, Texas; sister Elaine Flint in Texas. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Susan Briam of Fresno, Calif.; stepdaughters Charlotte Weaver of Topaz Ranch Estates; Belinda Olinger of Lompoc, Calif.; stepson Keith Weaver of San Jose, Calif.; Chile Weaver of Las Vegas and Diond Weaver of San Diego, Calif. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary. Mr. Briam will be buried in Pomona Valley Memorial Park, Pomona Calif. Memorial donations may be made to the Unity Church Fund, P.O. Box 2649, Minden, NV 89423-6949.




Julee Lynne Haines


1955-2007


A celebration of life will be held July 1 for Julee Lynne Haines, 51, a Gardnerville resident and long time resident of South Lake Tahoe who died at her home, April 24, 2007. For those wishing to attend, please call 265-3214 or e-mail edylou29@aol.com.


Ms. Haines was born May 17, 1955, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Julian and Mary Chada. She was a dealer at the Carson Valley Inn. She graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1973.


She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Cesare and Orsola Angeli and Isabella and Adam Chada and her pets.


Among her survivors are her parents, Julian and Mary Chada of Dayton; her children, David and Angeli Haines of Gardnerville; her stepchildren Selah and Micah Haines of Long Beach, Calif.; her brother Richard Chada of Elko; granddaughter Presley Byrd of Long Beach, aunts Lena Williams and May Johnson of Wyoming and Alex and Adam Chada.


The family would like to thank Julee's friends at Carson Valley Inn for paying for the cremation, if you would like to make a donation to help the children with expenses, please bring it to Robin in the pit at Carson Valley Inn.
