Elinore Louise DuBois
1912-2007
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. July 8 at the First Baptist Church in Minden for Elinore Louise DuBois, 94, who died June 21, 2007, at the Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville.
Mrs. DuBois was born Sept. 15, 1912, in Sioux City, Iowa. She went to high school and college in Iowa where she earned her registered nurse certification.
She was married for a short time to Wendell Lindgren and had a daughter, Kay Lindgren. She then married Faurest DuBois in Jackson, Minn. in 1947.
They moved to Indio, Calif., Lake Tahoe and then to Gardnerville in 1972.
She was very active in the community and supported Douglas County by volunteering at the Family Support Council, Genoa Court House Museum and the Douglas County Senior Center.
She was a member and attended the First Baptist Church in Minden.
After retiring from her nursing career, she worked as a bookkeeper until the age of 84 in Gardnerville for Carolyn's Fabrics and Country Curtains.
She took great pride in her gardening, especially her peonies and geraniums.
She also loved sewing, crafts and the San Francisco Giants.
Mrs. DuBois was preceded in death by her daughter Kay who died at the age of 40 from childhood onset diabetes and also by her companion and close friend John Andrews.
She is survived by her friends Eddie and Carolyn Sproul, Lisa and Sylanna Villalba, Noel and Louise Manoukian and family, a sister and niece in Pendleton, Ore; a nephew in Minnesota as well as many friends in Carson Valley.
Mrs. DuBois requested her body be donated to the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine.

Ralph F. Daugherty
1917-2007
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif. for Ralph F. Daugherty, 90, who died June 25, 2007, in Gardnerville.
Mr. Daugherty was born April 22, 1917, in Reno, to Raymond and Pauline Daugherty.
He lived in San Jose, Calif., for more than 60 years before moving to Minden 18 years ago.
He retired in 1982 from Painter's Local 507 after almost 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Daugherty.
He is survived by his son Pat Daugherty of Fremont, Calif.; his daughter Polly Mears of San Jose, Calif.; his sister Lorraine Johnson of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
Leona McDonald
1918-2007
A funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, 1281 Roop St. in Carson City, for Carson Valley native Leona McDonald, 88, who died June 27, 2007, in Gardnerville.
A lifetime resident of Gardnerville, Mrs. McDonald was born Nov. 19, 1918, in Gardnerville to Harry Fillmore and Pansy Mae Henry. She was married to Lester McDonald and was a homemaker and grandmother of five generations. She was a member of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester McDonald and one daughter. She is survived by her sons Wilford McDonald, Roger McDonald, Russell McDonald and Calvin McDonald, all of Gardnerville; her daughters Charlotte McDonald, Madeline McDonald, Carolyn Ewing, Justine Koos, all of Gardnerville and Jeanette Blevins of San Diego.
Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Funeral Home in Carson City.
A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Walton's Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Woodfords Indian Cemetery.
