Food closet thanks those who donated

The Carson Valley Community Food Closet would like to thank all the generous donors who gave in May. Food donations in May included (in pounds): St. Gall Catholic Church (511), Carson Valley United Methodist Church (175), Mike Smith (71), Rite Aid (123), Minden Post Office (6,518), Gardnerville Post Office (4,045), Gardnerville Ranchos Post Office (4,807), Douglas County Public Library (102), Russell's Mercantile (10), Trinity Lutheran Church (25), Gardnerville Farmers Market (154). Regular grocery contributors were: Scolari's, Raley's, Smith's, Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Costco and Pony Espresso.


Cash donations were received from: Ray and Lucia Gray, Coventry Cross Church, Burl and Rosemarie Middendorf, Minden Fortnightly, Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce in memory of Roger Long, John and Elizabeth Williams, Barbara LeBlanc, Marie Machetta, John Williams, Merrill Construction, Gray Matter, Tillman 7-11, Jethro's, Montclare Painting, Allison Mackenzie, Closet Crafters, Sally Wiley, Angela Longre, Big George Ventures, Raley's customers and employees.


Miscellaneous donations included a new door and installation from Ray Gray, stucco work on the building by L.A. Thomas and shelving from Raley's.


If you would like to donate to help those in need, stop by the food closet at 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, 1 to 4 p.m. call director Eileen Boettiger and assistant director Donna Kurtz at 782-3711.




Carson Valley Community Food Closet
