A fund has been set up to assist those affected by the Angora fire still burning near South Lake Tahoe. The Angora fire fund account is held at the U.S. Bank located at 2850 Lake Tahoe Blvd., however, funds can be deposited at any U.S. Bank location.

A committee of leaders will coordinate distribution of these funds with a focus on helping people fill the needs not met by immediate disaster relief agency funds and insurance. There will not be any administrative costs associated with the fund and ALL monies will remain local filling the needs of the residents of the small community of South Lake Tahoe.

Local relief centers, including the Red Cross, indicate they have received sufficient donations for food, clothing and necessities and are in fact, overstocked at this time.  The community of South Lake Tahoe is grateful for the outpouring of support.

The Angora Fire Fund will help those affected by the fire at a time when they need it most, when the impact of the devastation becomes more understood.

A list of current donors is listed below and will be updated and placed on the Chamber's website (www.tahoechamber.org). For more information contact the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce at 775-588-1728.

Donations can be made at any U.S.Bank to the Angora Fire Fund Account, or mailed to Angora Fire Fund, P.O. Box 17640, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151.
