Little League All-Star action goes into full swing this weekend with two Nevada District I All-Star Tournaments at Ranchos Aspen Park.

The Carson Valley Little 9-10-year-old All-Stars and 10-11-year-old All-Stars will serve as the hosts this week as teams from Carson, Reno, Sparks, South Tahoe, North Tahoe and Truckee come to town.

The 11-12-year-old All-Star district tournament starts July 9 in Reno.

Carson Valley's 9-10s get started at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against South Tahoe. The 10-11s go Saturday at 4 p.m. against Reno National.

The tournament continues Sunday with the 9-10s taking on Reno National at 3:30 p.m. and the 10-11s playing South Tahoe at 6 p.m.

Both teams get Monday off and on Tuesday the 9-10s play Reno American West at 5:30 p.m. and the 10-11s play Sparks Centennial at 8 p.m.

The last day of pool play is Thursday, when the 9-10s will take on Carson National at 5:30 p.m. and the 10-11s play Carson National at 8 p.m.

Bracket play starts July 6, semifinals are July 7 and the championship game is July 8.

In Hooligans and Renegades action at Swope Middle School Wednesday night, the Carson Valley Hooligans were eliminated by Reno Continental 11-1 while the Carson Valley Renegades topped Reno American East 19-4 to advance to the semifinals.

In the Hooligans game, David Neisess pitched through several jams in the first three innings to keep it close and Steven Hiatt, who pitched in three of Carson Valley's five games in the tournament, threw the fourth.

Carson Valley got its lone run in the fourth when Michael Hoyt drew his second walk of the game.

Caleb Duster singled to push Hoyt to second and Hoyt stole third and home on consecutive pitches.

Duster, who led the team in stolen bases during the tournament, was tagged out at home attempting to score on an overthrow.

Michael Doyle threw the final inning for Carson Valley as the Hooligans finished the tournament with a record of 2-3.

"We had fun," coach Tom Mariani said. "It was a good time and the kids were really great. They played hard for us but we just ran into some trouble getting hits in those last three games.

"We pitched well but the defense just wasn't as great as it was through the first two games. We had a good time and that was the main thing."
