She started out as a secretary in Carson Valley more than a few years ago and she's coming back to wreak comedic havoc on some of the bosses who made her life challenging in the early years.

Her name is Kat Simmons and she's the featured performer at the Minden Rotary 13th annual Comedy Tribute to Administrative Professionals on April 25 in the Carson Valley Inn Shannon Ballroom.

Simmons has a long list of comedy credits including many major comedy clubs throughout the United States; TV appearances on The Comedy Channel, Comedy Nite, Candid Camera, and more; and performances with such entertainment notables as Tim Allen, Kenny Rogers and most recently, Kevin Nealon from Saturday Night Live. Simmons has hundreds of stories about being a single parent, dating, the differences between men and women, life in "Hooterville" and life in general. She now performs for corporate events, teaches comedy workshops (there's another one starting April 4 - call Kat at 265-7647 for information) and produces comedy shows - which she has been doing at the Carson Valley Inn for more than 15 years.

Simmons said, "Comedy is not what I do, it is who I am."

Tickets are $30 which includes lunch, tax, gratuity, and the comedy show. Advance reservations are a must and tickets can be obtained from John Hamer at 783-6216; Brent Holderman at 782-2208 or Mo Hernandez at 782-0195.
