A motorcyclist reportedly received abrasions and a shoulder injury in an accident at the intersection of Highway 88 and Kimmerling Road 5:32 p.m. today.
Medics on the scene says the motorcycle was down and that the motorcyclist was sitting inside a vehicle and talking when they arrived.
The accident was reported as a pickup versus a motorcycle.
A 17-year-old Douglas High student received serious leg injuries after she was hit by a car while walking to school this morning.
The girl was helicoptered to Reno for medical treatment after the 9:40 a.m. accident on Highway 88, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Amy Halton.
"The car simply didn't stop," Halton said.
The student was listed in serious condition at press time, according to Sgt. Blair Harkleroad of the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Carson City resident Jana Richmond was northbound in the right lane in a blue Chevrolet Malibu sedan when she reportedly struck the girl. The investigation is ongoing, Harkleroad said.
