A Douglas High School girl hit by a car Thursday sustained a broken leg and other injuries, but none are life-threatening, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper James Farmer.
"I just spoke to her," he said. "She will remain at the hospital for a few days."
Farmer would not reveal the victim's name because she is a juvenile and there are some other issues, he said.
Carson City resident Jana Richmond was northbound in the right lane in a blue Chevrolet Malibu sedan when she repotedly struck the girl, according to Sgt. Blair Hackleroad of the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The 17-year-old Gardnerville resident was helicoptered to Reno after being hit while crossing Highway 88 near Douglas High School around 9:40 a.m., according to Highay Patrol reports.
An investigation is ongoing and when completed, the District Attorney's office will determine if any charges will be filed, Farmer said.
