• James Seyfried is the dentist who bought Dr. Michael Fischer's practice in Gardnerville after he took the job of the state's cultural affairs director. Seyfried recently had his own practice in the San Diego area but he is looking forward to becoming a part of the Valley community and being closer to his sister, Becky Soderman, owner of Classical Glass. • On Friday evening, Knights of Columbus offered a special bingo game, a benefit for
Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Mike Biaggini. The turnout was the largest ever for bingo, 209 people attended, with the proceeds going toward Biaggini's trips to get cancer treatments in Sacramento. Page B1
• Douglas High School has settled on a new fundraiser to raise money for senior grad night. Joining other schools like Whittell, Carson and Galena, Douglas High will hold a Mr. DHS Pageant on March 27. Page B1
• Puttin' On The Ritz is a benefit dinner-dance and auction that the Family Support Council hosts each year. The fundraiser, held this year on March 24 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club, helps the non-profit pay for services such as running a 24-hour crisis line, crisis intervention counseling, women's support group, parenting skills and education courses.
