Updates on Douglas grads for the week ending March 11, 2007

BASEBALL


Bryan Miller, jr., OF, Troy University: Went 1-for-5 in a 4-3 win over Middle Tennessee State and 1-for-5 in an 11-7 loss to Middle Tennessee. The Trojans dropped the weekend series 2-1.


Cal Lewis, sr., 3B, South Dakota State: Went 1-for-3 with two runs scored in a 10-7 win and, 0-for-3 in a 4-3 loss and 0-for-1 in a 4-3 win as the Jackrabbits took a weekend series from Murray State.


Chris Honer, soph., P, Point Loma: Struck out five and walked none in five innings of work against Indiana Wesleyan and took his first loss of the season. He also served as a pinch runner in a loss to Vanguard.


Shane Cauley, jr., OF, Chico State: Chico took a hit last week, losing four games to fifth-ranked Cal State Los Angeles. The Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the country heading into the series.


D.J. Brady, fr., OF, Mesa College: Mesa is 13-13 overall and 4-12 in conference play.


Chad Walling, soph., INF, Western Nevada: Scored two runs in a 10-3 win, played center field in a 4-1 win and played left field in a 4-1 win as the Wildcats took three of four from Salt Lake Community College over the weekend.




SOFTBALL


Kristy Olsen, jr., 3B/OF, Iowa State: Went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a 4-3 loss to Cal Poly, went 1-for-3 in a 4-1 loss to UC Davis, went 3-for-4 in a 6-2 win over UC Riverside and went 1-for-4 with two runs scored in a 5-2 win over Eastern Illinois.


Brittany Puzey, soph., OF, Nevada: No games last week.


Valerie Smith, soph., C, Columbia: Scored a run in a 10-2 win over Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 4-3 loss to Georgetown, went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 6-1 win over George Washington and went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in a 5-0 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay.




TRACK & FIELD


Daniel Sipko, jr., Eastern Oregon: Stats not available.


Ryan Bertucci, fr., Chico State: Took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6-4 at the Wildcat relays over the weekend.
