While the temperatures will drop and the wind will blow, the chances that we'll get wet from this storm are decreasing. The National Weather Service reports a 24 percent chance of precipitation starting about 10 p.m. tonight rising to 40 percent by 4 a.m. Tuesday and staying there until Tuesday afternoon. In the meantime, the wind will start to pick up this morning with gusts of up to 28 mph and the predicted high of 69 degrees will hit this afternoon.

There's a high wind advisory on Highway 395 through Washoe Valley. The Nevada Department of Transportation is recommending that campers and trailers take the long way.

A man who reportedly has had five DUI convictions in the past seven years is scheduled to be sentenced in Douglas County District Court this morning in connection with a New Year's Day arrest in Gardnerville. Gary Allen Jacobson, 61, had a blood-alcohol content three times the legal limit when he was pulled over at Centerville Lane and Dresslerville Road. When the deputy tried to call the stop in, Jacobson allegedly started his vehicle and pulled over again at Gilman and Waterloo. District Court begins at 9 a.m. in Minden's Judicial & Law Enforcement Building.
