The Douglas County Senior Center will be hosting its seventh annual Big Mama's Show & Shine Car Show at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. The event is scheduled for May 12. Check-in is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., show and shine is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Awards presentation is at 3 p.m. There will be music by Time Warp, food, vendors, and many classic vehicles, with an all-day raffle of prizes from area businesses.
The class range is from pre-1948 to 1972 stock or modified cars and pre-1965 to 1972 stock or modified trucks. There are classes in sports cars, special interests, street rods and under constructions (no tow-ins).
To register a vehicle, stop by the senior center at 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville or call the office at 783-6455. The registration fee is $45 (postmarked by May 4) or $50 (postmarked after May 4). Day of the show registration will be accepted.
There will also be a craft and vendor fair at the event. Registration forms are available at the senior center or can be mailed. The booth space is 10-foot by 10-foot and costs $30. Canopies and tables must be provided by the vendor.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward the Douglas County Meals On Wheels Program.
