The Dakota Organization, a Minden-based non-profit theatrical production company, is holding auditions for their upcoming comedy, "Sylvia," directed by Rod Hearn. Most roles are open: two women, ages 20s-50s; and two men, ages 30s-50s; one androgynous actor, age 30s-50s. New York accents are a plus, but are not necessary. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at The Dakota Organization Office in Minden. Call-back auditions are scheduled 3-5 p.m. on April 7. The audition will consist of cold readings from the script. For more information call 450-1186.
Producer is sought
The Dakota Organization is seeking applicants for the position of producer for the upcoming production of "Sylvia." This non-paid position will be responsible for most aspects of staging the play, including processes related to promotion, ticket marketing, logistics of the production schedule and other various production needs. Applicants should have time availability and be eager to take on the various challenges of play production.
Directing intern position available
The Dakota Organization is seeking applicants for the position of directing intern for the production of "Sylvia."
This non-paid position will teach an intern about many aspects of directing for the stage, including processes related to auditions and casting, rehearsals, technical elements and other various production needs. Applicants should have evening availability and be eager to learn the "behind the scenes" elements of play production.
The Dakota Organization hopes to develop more directing talent in Carson Valley, with successful applicants possibly directing future productions.
-- Performances are scheduled at the CVIC Hall in Minden, July 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. with matinee performances July 22, 28 and 29 at 2 p.m.
