If it's Sunday, the National Weather Service must have issued a special weather statement. This one came out at 4 a.m. and is predicting a winter storm will roll into western Nevada by Monday afternoon. The wind is already blowing this morning, with gusts of up to 26 mph. That's expected to continue through Monday morning. Travelers in the dustier areas of Nevada are warned to expect that dust to take to the air. Whatever precipitation the storm brings with it is expected to arrive Monday afternoon. The Weather Service said there could be up to a foot of snow above 7,000 feet in parts of Mono County and the Tahoe Basin. This is a cold storm, so snow levels could drop to the Valley floors with some light accumulations in the foothills on Tuesday morning.
