Zelda A. Bergstrom
1930-2007
A memorial service is 11:30 a.m. Saturday for Zelda A. Bergstrom, 76, a 32-year resident of Gardnerville, at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Mrs. Bergstrom died March 23, 2007, at her home.
Born March 31, 1930, in Springfield, Mo., to Francis Foster and Iva A. Steele Foster, she graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Calif.
She married Veryl Bergstrom in 1974 in Carson City.
Mrs. Bergstrom worked as a bookkeeper for Copeland Lumber until she retired.
She is survived by her husband; children Coral Boganes of Chicago Park, Calif., Rocky Chamberlain of Minden, Mark Lealtad of Sparks; stepchildren John Bergstorm of Conway, Ark. and Cheryl Burns of Bainbridge, Wash.; stepsister Jean Wolhar of Santa Cruz, Calif., 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Douglas County, Missouri and Sparks.
FitzHenry's is in charge of arrangements.

Herman Gustav Herbig
1953-2007
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday for Herman Gustav Herbig, 53, at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville. He died March 16, 2007, of natural causes in Salem Ore.
Mr. Herbig was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in Bridgeport, Calif., to Herman H. Herbig and Anneliese Schultz Herbig, a long time Valley ranching family.
Mr. Herbig graduated Douglas County High School class of 1971, from the University of Nevada, Reno, and from Old College School of Law. He practiced as a local attorney. Mr. Herbig graduated from Army ranger training, was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Douglas Engine Company. He was an active member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Kerak Shrine Temple. As hobbies he enjoyed aviation and photography.
Mr. Herbig was preceded in death by his father, Herman H., grandfather, Herman, and grandmother, Anna.
He is survived by his son, Christian of Carson City, mother Anneliese Herbig, brother Ralph and nephew Ryan, all of Minden.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Dougals County Historical Society.
John Harvey Neill
1936-2007
A celebration of life for John Harvey Neill, 71, will begin with a Rosary 6 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in Smith and a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 N. West St. in Yerington. Mr. Neill died March 22, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Neill, known as Harvey, was born Jan. 24, 1936, in North Hollywood, Calif. At the age of 11, he and his family moved to Smith Valley, where he made his home for the past 60 years. Following in the footsteps of his father, he entered ranching and farming after getting a degree in animal science from Colorado State University. After 17 years of farming, he sold the ranch and went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture where he was county executive director of FSA in Minden.
Small in stature, but a giant in character, he was a man of faith and devoted to his family, friends and country. He loved the outdoor life and spent many days hunting, fishing and enjoying the wide open spaces. He loved nothing more than sitting around the campfire, strumming his guitar and singing old country western songs. He will be missed by the many who had the privilege to know him.
He is survived by his four children Susan, John, Theresa and Cathy and their spouses, Ron, Susie, Louie and Eric as well as nine grandchildren, Leasa, Amanda, Nicole, Nick, Jake, Cassidy, Vincent, Zachary and Brooke.
Arrangements are in the care of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Smith. A reception will be held following the burial. Paul F. Quatrochi
1961-2007
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Paul F. Quatrochi, 45, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident for the past 10 years. Mr. Quatrochi died March 23, 2007, in Topaz Ranch Estates.
Born Dec. 10, 1961, in Catalina Island, Calif., to Frank J. and Silvia Raddatz Quatrochi, he married Debbie in 1998.
Mr. Quatrochi was a carpenter and an avid sportsman, who enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of E Clampus Vitus and loved being with his family and friends.
He is survived by wife Debbie; daughter Jessica Carnett of Carson City; his parents; and a sister, Mary Roach of Phoenix.
A private family memorial service was held Tuesday for Mr. Quatrochi. Cremation is through FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
