College registration begins, scholarship deadline Monday

There is still time to apply for a scholarship to attend Western Nevada Community College in fall 2007. The scholarship application deadline is April 2, which is also the day online registration begins for summer session.

Summer classes begin June 11 and continue through Aug. 3. More than 130 academic credit classes and non-credit community education classes, as well as 16 online courses, are available at the Carson City, Douglas and Fallon campuses, and in Fernley and Yerington.

Summer is the time to break out and try something new or to get a head start on the fall term. Some courses fulfill degree requirements or prerequisites at WNCC and other colleges and universities. Classes of varying lengths are available in accounting, art, biology, business, computer applications, English, history, mathematics, music, nursing, philosophy, political science, psychology, Spanish and more.

Fall classes begin Aug. 27, and continue through Dec. 14. More than 60 scholarships are available to WNCC students, including awards for both undecided and undeclared majors.
