Minden move turns salon into day spa

With two nail specialists, two massage therapists, four estheticians and seven hair stylists, the new C & Company Salon and Day Spa is a department store of beauty services.

Owner Carolyn Wohlgemuth has expanded her staff and added massage and skin care services to turn her salon into a spa in a newly remodeled building in Minden.

"For five years we were next to Jen's Optical and offered hair and nail services and now we're a total salon and spa," said Wohlgemuth. "We focus on being a team and we have people here with anywhere from two years to 41 years' experience."

The salon is on the main floor with a separate nail room with two pedicure spas and its own ventilation system. Heidi Bowers provides "a great set of nails" and Barbara Nichols specializes in sculptured nails.

There are four rooms in the quiet space upstairs to accommodate masseuses and estheticians.

The four estheticians provide skin care services such as permanent make-up, waxing and body wraps and treatments.

Stephanie Waggoner is known for permanent make-up for lips, eyebrows and eyeliner. Lori Roe is best at treating sun-damaged and aging skin.

Charity Moore's forte is body treatments and Diane Wilkinson does microderm abrasion and seasonal color analysis.

Erin Paulson is a licensed massage therapist. Michelle Supelana-Mix does neuromuscular therapy and deep tissue and orthopedic massage.

The hair stylists, including Wohlgemuth, Donna Cash, Lillian Reid, Brandie Thran, Nyona Lang, Cheryl Funk and Judy Koblitz, have experience in cuts, permanents, custom color, color correction, weaves, special occasion hair, ear piercing and facial waxing.

Air brush tanning is coming soon to C & Company and an open house event is planned 4-7 p.m. June 16.

The salon and day spa's hours are flexible, but basic hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Hairdressers are available for walk-in business.
