The Comstock Shootout club soccer tournament in Carson City proved to be a wild success for the various Carson Valley girls' teams competing.

There was a Carson Valley team in the championship game of the U10, U12, U14 and U16 divisions of the tournament that featured 176 total teams.

The younger three squads all ended up winning the championship.

The Carson Valley U10 Falcons were one of only three teams in the entire tournament to not allow a goal throughout the weekend. The Falcons beat the Davis Nightmare 2-0 in the opening game, topped the Carson City Diamonds 4-0, beat the Concord Chaos 3-0 and beat the Pleasant Hill Alliance 1-0 in the championship game.

"We had comments from referees, opposing coaches and parents that they hadn't seen passing as crisp as ours at any other tournament this year," team general manager Jim Talia said.

Team members include Lindsay Adams, Lindsay Grujcic, Samantha Crawford, Alexis Von Schottenstein, Carly Talia, Emily Lawrence, Haliegh Garside, Ashley Hellwinkel, McKenna Kynett, Tiffany Roberts and Hannah Coverley.

The team is coached by Drago Dimitri. Carson Valley has compiled a 2-0-2 record in league play this spring and plans on competing in the Rogue Valley Cup in Medford, Ore., and the Capital Classic in June.
