Gardnerville resident Al Gherardi dropped off a photo of a group of Model A Fords lined up in front of the Dangberg Home Ranch. Al said they are starting a new club in town for owners of the classic car.

"We are the newest chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America," he said. "We're called the Carson Valley Model A Ford Club or the Carson Valley 'A's."

There are eight couples involved in the club, which branched off from the Carson City group.

"We're a traveling group," said Al, who with his wife Anna owns a 1930 Model A Roadster. "We like to get out and drive the cars. We enjoyed the trip over there."

Suzanne Sturtevant, who supervises both Mormon Station State Historic Park and the home ranch, gave the tour. Tours of the ranch are conducted on Sundays and Wednesdays. To make a tour reservation, contact 687-4379 ext. 221 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The couple have been living in Carson Valley for six years and will be celebrating their 51st anniversary on June 17.

There's a lot of talk of how bad wildfire season is going to be, but this evening's release of Brushfire won't require any help from the emergency services.

The University of Nevada, Reno, journal of art and literature will be releasing its 58th and 59th editions at 5 p.m. tonight. Our interest is that R-C alum Sarah King and Ashley Noel Hennefer are two thirds of the magazine's staff.

The event is 5 p.m. at the Sheppard Gallery on campus.
