It looks like spring has finally sprung, with the high temperature today getting up to 75 and by Tuesday, temperatures will hit the 80s and stay there for awhile. In Genoa, the temperature is 47 degrees and it is sunny and calm.
A woman who was ringing up purchases for a fraction of their cost while a cashier at Wal-Mart faces sentencing today on theft charges. Guadalupe Torres, 38, and her husband, Jose Torres are both scheduled to appear in District Court this morning.
An expansion of the North Valley Waste Water Treatment Plant is on the Douglas County Planning Commission?s agenda for 1 p.m. Tuesday. The county wants to build a 41-acre effluent storage reservoir and four infiltration basins on the parcel located at the north end of Johnson Lane. Also Park Cattle Co. is seeking to divide 1,510 acres between Muller and Mottsville lanes into 32 parcels, the smallest of which would be 40 acres.
The worst of the road construction remains on Highway 50 for the time being, with bad spots at Zephyr Cove and Glenbrook and construction still under way on the interchange that will serve Clear Creek. Night work should continue through Friday on Highway 395 through Gardnerville. Utility work is continuing on Jacks Valley Road north of Genoa Lakes Boulevard, with traffic down to one lane in places.
