The Carson Valley Trails Association will celebrate National Trails Day 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 3, with a day of organized hikes and trail building at the Faye-Luther Trailhead on Foothill Road in Gardnerville.
Organized hikes will begin at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Hikers will learn about the flora and fauna found near the trail. The hikes are easy and can be enjoyed by all ages. Hikers should bring their own water. No prior sign-up is required for hikers.
Trail building will continue throughout the day. Trail builders should bring water and lunch, wear long-sleeved shirt, long pants and bring gloves. Hard hats and tools will be provided. Trail builders must contact Phil Brisack before the event at 265-7264.
In case of rain the event will be cancelled.
