Last week, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office asked for public assistance in location Wiltrude Moritz, a 71-year-old Gardnerville resident. As of Thursday morning, the search still continues.
Moritz was last seen at her home in the Gardnerville Ranchos on May 12 around noon. She has now been missing for nearly two weeks.
Moritz is described as a white female adult, 71 years of age, white hair and hazel eyes.
She was last seen wearing a white V-neck shirt, black pants and powder blue Keds shoes. Ms. Moritz is driving a faded silver 1991 Mazda 929 four door sedan bearing Nevada license plate 874TYN.
The family was monitoring her financial transactions, but after a few local transactions in the first few days of her disappearance, there has been no activity on her accounts since.
Moritz reportedly suffers from dementia and requires daily medication for other health issues. Her family is very concerned for her welfare and the sheriff's office would appreciate any help in ensuring her safe return home.
Anyone with information of Moritz' whereabouts is asked to call Douglas County Sheriff's Investigator Greg Rooney at (775) 782-9905 or their local law enforcement agency.
