Every Douglas High School senior is offered a fresh flower lei for graduation day. At 6 p.m. on June 14, family members and friends of graduates are invited to the home of Davelyn Miyashiro to string a lei of plumeria flowers as a gift to the graduate.
Anyone interested, should contact Miyashiro at 450-3873 cell or leave a message at 265-6764 home. She is hoping to hear by Friday so a enough flowers can be ordered and shipped from Hawaii.
There is no cost to participate.
"The flowers are our family's gift to a community that has added many wonderful dimensions to our lives," Miyashiro said.
