An account has been opened at Greater Nevada Credit Union to benefit 24-year-old Marshal Wright, who is in a coma after he was involved in a traffic accident near Ukiah, Calif., on Oct. 30.
Family friend Linda Skaggs said Marshal is in a coma and on a breathing machine.
"We're trying to stay positive," she said. "We've got lots of prayers and lots of good thoughts."
Marshal's mom Diana Castro White works with Linda for Douglas Area Regional Transport. Marshal attended Douglas High School and lives in Gardnerville.
The account is under Diana's name at the credit union.

I sat with J.B. and Lisa Lekumberry at the Genoa Town Board meeting for a bit on Tuesday.
Just before they left, J.B. asked me to mention that two measures pertaining to agriculture in the Valley would be on the planning commission agenda on Tuesday.
J.B. describes the measures as two tools ranchers need to keep ranching. One allows the creation of a 2-acre parcel once every five years for landowners with holdings of more than 100 acres of irrigated agricultural land, the other allows non-contiguous clustering of housing and also ties water to the land.
The meeting is 10 a.m. Tuesday. J.B. encouraged people to come out to the meeting whether they agree with the plan or not.
"These are tools the ranchers need to keep them in ranching," he said. "They are vital and if we don't get them there's a possibility we'll be sending the water downstream."

Carson Valley Residential Care Center is sponsoring its second annual calendar fundraiser.
The calendar features photographs of residents living at the center and 100 percent of the minimum $13 donation goes to help subsidize the residents' rent, holiday gifts, dental care and personal items.

So there I am filling in at East Fork Justice Court and suddenly I'm the center of a legal argument. Defense attorney Tod Young and prosecutor Mike McCormick are debating when a preliminary hearing should be set. Not the day, mind you, but the time of day. Mike wants to have the preliminary in the morning, but Tod has a conflict and wants it in the afternoon.
"Perhaps the District Attorney's Office would like to say in front of Mr. Hildebrand that they close at noon on Friday," I half hear Tod saying.
"How about that, Kurt?" Justice of the Peace Jim EnEarl says from the bench. "Are you getting all of this?"
"Don't bring me into this," I muttered as I shrank in my seat.
