Superior Doors owner Peggy Dawers' son, Alex, is in the Navy and is being deployed to Iraq in a short while. She plans on sending care packages out to him and is looking for anyone who would like to help.

Anyone who would like to donate magazines, snacks or hygiene products, or just send a note, should put their name and city on the item and drop it off at either Minden or South Lake Tahoe location. Peggy's number is 267-3667.

They are clearing a section of the Pine Nuts south of Dayton for sage grouse habitat and say there are thousands of young pinons waiting to be Christmas trees. Contact the Carson City office for a permit.

It will start clouding up on Friday night. Today we'll see some clouds creep in, but the high will be 68 degrees. Friday's high will be down to 63 and by Veteran's Day it will be in the low 50s.
