A rain storm is expected to hit the the Valley floor Saturday evening and continue into Sunday, possibly bringing snow in the mountains this weekend.
The National Weather Service is reporting that the first of two Pacific storms will move into the central Sierra today. The weak system will bring slightly cooler temperatures to the region, with the chance of isolated showers and thunderstoms.
The second stronger storm over the central Pacific will reach the northern Sierra and northwest Nevada by Saturday afternoon. The second storm will bring rain and mountain snow to the area Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.
The weather service advises those with travel plans over the Sierra passes this weekend to be prepared for winter driving conditions.
